It's time for Indiana to Share the Savings with Hoosiers
Leading Indiana advocacy groups are calling on state lawmakers to “Share the Savings” to provide prescription drug savings to Hoosier patients and small employers to help them afford the medicines they desperately need.

The problem:
Prescription drug savings are not shared with Hoosier patients and small employers.
On average, prescription drug manufacturers rebate 40% of a medicine’s list price – but as it stands now, those savings are not shared with patients. Instead, they are given back to insurers, pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), the government, and other entities in the pharmaceutical supply chain.
When patients have not met their insurance deductible or are paying coinsurance for a medicine, the amount they must pay is often based on the full list price of the medicine - even if their insurance company and PBM have negotiated a discounted price with the manufacturer.
The Solution:
Urge the Indiana State Legislature to pass Senate Bill 8 to provide immediate savings for patients’ prescription drug costs and better transparency for employers.
This important bill would require insurers and PBMs to Share the Savings they enjoy from pharmaceutical companies but do not currently pass on to consumers, helping Hoosiers save up to $1,000 annually on life-saving medicines without drastically increasing premiums.
It is critically important to fix this broken system. Enacting Share the Savings will save patients money and keep Hoosiers healthy.
